3 stars!
America Singer is a sixteen-year-old who lives in the country of Illea, a remaining part of the United States after World War III. And yes World War III! It is Dystopian!!! Illea is a weird monarchy that has a caste system ranging from One to Eight- One being very rich and high class and Eight being very poor. America is sent an invitation to The Selection where thirty-five girls are allowed to stay in the palace and compete to win Prince Maxon's heart. America is reluctant to take part in it. And the reason is simple: Her family and her secret lover Aspen. Things start getting unsettling there.

I loved how the plot was fast-paced with no-nonsense and the world-building is very easy to understand with little to no brain power. It feels like Bridgerton meeting Hunger Games-esque.Loved chemistry and banter between Maxon and America but she was kinda annoying and irritating at times.

Overall a good interesting book with abrupt ending.
