Holiday Star - Spicy by Melissa Dymond

4.0

Both characters were strugling in their own ways to prove themselves. Gwen by working hard to be a good doctor and prove her worth with her acomplishments, and Caleb by being a good actor and exceding at being a celebrity. Both transmited an image to the outside completly different from reality. To others they were powerfull, resorsefull, strong, acomplished and envied. But in reality they were just two people trying to get through their insecurities, mainly by projecting an image of self confidence (fake it 'till you make it right?).
Well, when they end up together living during the holiday season in close proximity to each other they start to see the real person behing all those walls and false projections. And, guess what? The actually like the real person underneath (the one they were hiding)!
They teach each other to be true to themselves and most of all that it's ok not to match other people expectations. It is most important to match your own.
And when all is bliss, reality comes and blows them away. They are forced to be apart and to re-evaluate what they want most in life. Their pretenses or their new found happiness, even if the lattest is so much harder.
They struggle, sure, but they also learn that they are so many things, and not just that one thing that at first defined them. And once they accept that fact, they are so much happier!

It was a pleasure to watch both of them grow in so many ways. Both chatacters were relatable and I could see myself a little in both (so much more in Gwen that it was a little frightning, but.. well!).
Their love was flashing, like a neon sign, and it was spot on. They melted my insides from time to time.

“Gwen, don’t you know by now…anything of mine is yours. You just have to ask."
“I’m going to teach you that forever isn’t long enough for the two of us.”

I was teary eyed several times, I laghed and was enraged throughout the book. I love when a story makes me feel so much and this one surely did not disapoint!
Well done! So freaking well done!
