Sunkissed is a super cute, teen romance. But that's not the only focus, because this book is also about self-discovery and stepping out of your comfort zone. It's a coming of age story, with building friendships and family issues weaved together.

The summer before her senior year, Avery is about to spend two whole months at a camping resort with her parents and her 15 year old sister, Lauren. The camp has every summer activity imaginable, but it doesn't have Wi-Fi or cell reception. And that's not the only problem - Avery and Lauren are polar opposites in pretty much every way. While Avery is a people pleaser and an introvert who has no idea what she wants from life, her sister is a total extrovert who has a passion for video making and is a master at social media.

The story is partly centered around family, but fear not because summer camp equals summer romance and those expectations are met when Avery meets Brooks, a resort employee who plays guitar in the band that entertains during dinner meals. At first they don't really like each other, but their feelings quickly turn into attraction, even though the staff isn't allowed to mingle with the guests.
