Last Child in the Woods: Saving Our Children from Nature-Deficit Disorder by Richard Louv

challenging emotional informative reflective slow-paced

3.5

My main quip with the book is rather specific and odd- when Louv brings up Ebenezer Howard and his creation of ‘The Garden City’ he fails to mention that the reason these cities have been modified is because they failed. Howard is deemed one of the largest failures of urban planning and white flight is heavily associated with him.

Aside from this the book is pretty informative although anecdotal at some portions. Additionally there is a small section at the end about nature and it’s place in faith- I personally skimmed over this portion as I didn’t find it useful or relatable.
