My Fiance's Dad by S.E. Law

Don’t Believe The Hype

There is no spice let’s just get that out the way right now. The spiciest thing about this book is the cover. The insinuation of spice. Honestly this book was painful for me to get through. It felt like I was reading a male fantasy where women just take everything on the chin and don’t show any emotion when they are literally being dragged through the mud. Cora is not a real person. Her fiancé tells her at their engagement party that he’s gay and his lover who I’m certain he’s been cheating on her with this whole time, who was also invited to their engagement party comes and scoops him up right in front of her. They literally drive off and leave her standing in the parking lot alone in the middle of the night and all she thinks is how hard it must have been for him. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! After that she goes to great lengths to protect his secret to the point where she runs away for a few weeks to avoid having to explain to people what happened. Only his dad comes to her to get the engagement ring back and through a series of ludicrous events ends up stuck at a cabin in the mountains with her. Honestly this book is for people just stepping into reading spicy books. If you’re a seasoned spice reader don’t bother because if I see one more reference to her “womanhood” I’m gonna lose it. Of course the book ties itself up in a neat HEA bow with no conflict. The end 2 saccharine sweet stars ⭐️⭐️.
