These Summer Storms by Sarah MacLean begins with Alice Storm heading back to her family home on a private island after the death of her father. If being estranged from her family wasn't enough, Alice discovers that in her fathers will he states that each family member has to beat a game in order for them to get their inheritance.

I won't lie, I thought this book would be so much more than it was, but overall I found it a little difficult to get through and I found myself rolling my eyes a lot.

I don't mind how the story played out for Jack and Alice, but I was getting annoyed with how Alice's thoughts were depicted around Jack. There are only so many times I needed to hear how hot he was and how much she wanted him but she also hated him etc. I was also tired of hearing how this is just how the Storms are and Alice is not like the other Storms.

It didn't feel like the story was really going anywhere and it felt very repetitive. This was definitely not my favourite summer read.
