Zero Repeat Forever by G.S. Prendergast

Although the pace of this book is slower, the story never has a dull moment. From the beginning, you're caught up in our two narrator's minds and thrown into a now very fragile world where humans become their own worst enemies, trust became a rare and precious, and love is tenuous bond. This book is so very human and manages to portray the struggles of the human race through grief and destruction and anger in an amazing way. Even though Eighth doesn't speak, his exchanges are often very potent, and the slow development between him and Raven is both heartbreaking and rewarding in ways. The ending is surprising in many ways and both answers questions and leads to many more. I'm definitely looking forward to the next book, though.
