I really really enjoyed this. It was a bit slow to get going but after the first 50 pages or so, it started really picking up speed and it was utterly compelling. The writing was so sharp and the plotting was great, just a slowly tightening knot that built to an incredibly satisfying climax. This is the first in a trilogy, I believe, but actually works very well as a standalone. Just a really satisfying, meaty sci fi - loved it.
