I think I was expecting something a little different than what we got in this - not a bad thing, just a different set of expectations. I didn't realize when I picked it up that it was the start to a series, but one that I definitely will not be continuing.
This was really middle of the road for me - nothing too fantastic and nothing too bad, but not enough to spark my interest to continue on with the series.
