Picks up where Bearers of the Black Staff ended and is a rare sequel in my experience which is better than the first book. I found myself much more attached to the characters and their troubles this time around. I was amazed at his further descriptions of the villion and look forward to reading more in the Shannara series! Fans of Shannara will not be disappointed.
