Not as tense as your typical mystery thriller, at least to me. Took me a while to get through this, in fact. As with the first book, the character relations were what drew me in. It might be what keeps me going to read the next book, especially because Krueger deems the first three books a trilogy of sorts. I’d like to see how Cork turns out with his family.
