This is a romance novel, but death, grief and fear of abandonment are big themes in this story too. I laughed, I swooned, and I cried even more. The relationships between characters are so beautifully woven together and the found family aspect was top tier. There is spice, a moment or two I found to be cringey because of certain word usage, but overall it was good and I still enjoyed it; it didn't pull away from or overshadow the plot. There is a twist at the end that had my jaw on the floor. I might have screamed too.
This book altered my brain chemistry in the best and worst way. It hit way too close to home for me.
Easy five stars.
