Don't Read the Comments
by Eric Smith
i stopped at around page 60, and i might try to read this again, but i just didn’t enjoy the beginning and decided to stop :/
i really like the idea of the book and the idea of a game like “reclaim the sun” sounds very interesting
BUT
i still don’t understand how the game works? it sounds really cool, but i have no idea what’s going on when i’m reading the book.
there were also a lot of cut scenes and flashbacks. the character started to do something and the scene abruptly changed and moved to a completely different topic, which made it difficult for me to focus on the plot.
also, i didn’t like the way the author portrayed streaming. i’m not a streamer but i am watching quite a bit of vods, and some of the stuff just didn’t make sense. in the game, the streamer can hear others’ reactions? isn’t it very chaotic to hear the viewers’ reaction? and while she is streaming she has private conversations with another person which was weird to read.
again, the rest of the book might be great but i could not get myself to read after these parts.
