Gunmetal Magic by Ilona Andrews
4.0

I like it very much. Sometimes with authors that write long sagas with different characters what happens is that you just get new versions of the same character with a different name (i'm looking at you Wilbur), this doesn't happen in this book. Andrea is a different character from Kate, and it's interesting her take on her.
I particularly like Raphael. He's subtle. And that does not happen often in this sort of books where half the male characters are borderline (or way over the line) possessive assholes. Not Raphael. He felt hurt and acted like a child, but he gets Andrea and lets her be herself, which considering how terribly, deeply and seriously fucked up Andrea is, it was the only thing to do to get to her.
There's plenty of action and some hilarious moments. This is people that have been together for some while now, they know each other and function as friends and family. And there's also a funny volhv that near steals the entire book.
Besides, any book with a Hitchhiker's Guide reference deserves 4 stars in my book.
