The Correspondent by Virginia Evans
4.0
emotional funny lighthearted medium-paced
Plot or Character Driven: A mix
Loveable characters: Yes

I was looking for a book that I could listen to on a long drive and the 8 hour length of this fit the bill. I always drawn to this book because the main charecter writes letters--and the book is just that, letters.
I love how  a story can be told in this format, and how much you learn about the charectures and their lives just from correspondence. I think that is one of the reasons I myself love writing letters to people The act of putting thoughts down to paper is somehow different that a phone call or even a quick e-mail. It take intention and especially in modern times it shows to the receipeint that they are important.
I found many parts of the story funny, especially the letters to authors. I loved that she had a pen-pal for over 60 years. I love how you can see how her thoughts and beliefs change and grow as she writes.
I really love how this made me want to write even more letters.
