This book took me on a very wild journey. I would describe the protagonist as the modern female version of Fight Club' narrator. She's a mess but can't see it, she's very mentally ill, but since she is surrounded by like minded people, you don't see it at first. The sex scenes are very explicit and bizarre which completely threw me off and made me consider stop reading. I was actually shocked, as the title description didn't mention it. But I'm glad I continued to read - the mental journey the characters are going through is captivating, to the point I stayed up late mid week just to finish reading it. I was worried the ending would be awful, but it really wasn't. I felt odd and weirded out and disgusted and embarrassed and empathetic all at once and I loved that a book made me feel such deep feelings.
