A Touch of Darkness by Scarlett St. Clair

4.0

I am very conflicted on how I feel about this book because on one hand I hated it, but on the other I kind of loved it.
Starting from the very first chapter I thought I wasn't going to be able to finish it. This book read like a badly written fanfiction story. I could not get behind the writing, I caught on to way too many inconsistencies, and Persephone's character was SUCH a pick me girl archetype it hurt to read at some points. I was ready to give this such a low rating and just bash on it but I would be lying if I said I didn't find myself not being able to put this book down and actually enjoying it. I still hated it while reading the parts I enjoyed, but it really was still a combination of both of them. Even if I did find Persephone to be annoying it how inconsistent her character was and how easily everything got handed to her, I did love the bickering between her and Hades, and while there were points in their love story that got frustrating, I did begrudgingly like it.
I honestly don't know how to rate this, I don't even know if I would recommend this, so I guess all I can say is pick this up if you are interested but go into it with lower expectations.
