I think this will forever be one of my favorite books in the series—besides the fact that I love the whale wizards, I love the structure of the book and the Song of the Twelve that Kit and Nita participate in. The underwater world has that perfect balance of familiar and strange to lure me in and intrigue me, as well as giving wizardry a new twist. Despite Nita’s young age, she stands up well to the consequences of her actions and choosing to fight for the world she loves and swore to protect.
