I am so glad I endeavored to finish this book after a midway point respite. amor towles loves his characters so much that we cannot help to. he treats them with such care —not to say the narrative prevents them from setback or ill-circumstance— that I found myself welling up 10-20 times in the second half of this book (which I must say outdoes the first). although rules of civility kept me hooked 100% of the time, and I found this one to drag more, it’s one of those things you leave with such a strong, fierce sense of love and admiration there is no other number of stars but 5.
