More like 4.5 stars, just because the ending made me quite happy. Still, it would have been a little easier to read if there hadn't been so much of the villain's perspective. (Although perhaps that made the ending that much more satisfying for me?) This book had lots of really interesting ideas, though, from the necroscope himself, to parasitic vampires, to the thoughts of the dead. I really liked it a lot.
