I really liked this continuation of the story but I didn't love it nearly as much as Book 1. The writing remained excellent, the weaving of current happenings with flashbacks from Book 1 was masterfully done, and Livvie remained my favorite heroine in dark erotica.

***SPOILERS AHEAD***

I was DEEPLY annoyed at the name changes at the end of the story because WTF! It's a straight betrayal of the reader. Don't make me invest in characters and then make changes like that. Bad, bad choice. Nobody gives a good goddamn about Sophia and James. Who the f*ck are they?! Nobody. We care about Livvie and Caleb. I'm still mad about it.

The B-story, while providing some fullness to the tale, was ultimately inconsequential. If you're gonna add this layer for Reed and Sloane, make it mean something.

Since when does the FBI disappear someone to Europe? She's supposed to be in WITSEC but she lives out of the country. When did they start doing that?
