Pretty good

Going into this, I didn't have particularly high expectations. I was reading this simply by the virtue of it being an INDIAN horror book, which there aren't many out there.

For this reason, I wasn't expecting something great by normal horror literature standards. It was Indian and that, while not enough, was in its favour. It's like with ambitious Indian movies; you don't want to be too critical because you respect the risk taken by the creators in making something like that in this country, and also because you don't want to discourage it.

But this book was actually good. A good horror book, not just a good indian horror book. The writing in particular was poignant, at times even beautiful.
