Palm Meridian
by Grace Flahive
In a sun-soaked floridian retirement village, a group of queer elders—including some absolutely iconic lesbians—navigate daily drama, decades-old secrets, and the occasional murder mystery (yes, really). This book is as original as it is iconic. The dry, deadpan humour had me cackling, the cast of diverse and lovable elderly characters felt so fresh and real, and somehow—amid all the chaos—it still hit me in the feels. It explores grief, lost love, and ageing with so much heart. I laughed the whole way through but finished it a little wrecked (in the best way). 4.5 stars and a new favourite!
