The narrator for the audio book was perfect, Amma sounded like a southern Azula and it fit her character perfectly. The story had me on edge even though I knew the ending. There were many times where I was so angry with the protagonists choices, but I get why they were included to show her declining mental state.
Graphic: Alcoholism, Child abuse, Child death, Chronic illness, Death, Domestic abuse, Drug abuse, Drug use, Emotional abuse, Mental illness, Misogyny, Physical abuse, Self harm, Sexual violence, Medical trauma, Murder, Gaslighting, and Toxic friendship
Moderate: Blood and Vomit
Minor: Animal cruelty, Animal death, and Eating disorder
Camille reveals that she was gang raped at a party when she was thirteen, she does not believe that this was a rape despite being extremely intoxicated and much younger than the perpetrators. This may be upsetting to survivors of sexual assault, as her perspective is to victim blame, despite having not processed that she was a victim herself.
There are also many depictions of hypersexual children as young as middle school.
