Excellent historical mystery set in India shortly after WWI. The premise of an English detective, addicted to opium, discovering India with all of the cultural and social issues being addressed makes for a fascinating read. I was frequently looking up references to incidents and people mentioned in the book.
Richly written, I lost the multiple threads of the mystery towards the end, but that was definitely my problem and not the authors.
