“The Council of Mirrors” is the final addition to Michael Buckley’s “The Sisters Grimm Series.”

This was one of my favourite middle grade series growing up and I’m so excited to revisit it as an adult to see how it holds up. The book is just as whimsical as I remembered, taking the classic fairytales and turning them on their heads.

“The Council of Mirrors” was the book I reread the least growing up, since I would reread the others in preparation for the next installment. When I began this reread, I wasn’t sure what to expect. It was the perfect ending to a (much beloved by me) middle grade low fantasy series. Buckley included some fantastic twists along the way and a lot more heartbreak that I remembered.

The ninth book of the series might have been released in 2012, but I’m still holding out hope for a spin-off series. That epilogue left the door wide open, people!
