Fauci by Michael Specter

5.0

This is an Audible freebie (included in the Audible Plus catalog). I've been following the news and was familiar with Dr. Fauci, so I figured I'd listen to a few minutes but then go on to another book.

This book is actually very enlightening and I listened from start to end. The author has a long-time relationship with Dr. Fauci and the included commentary is very candid. It describes Fauci's strained relationship with the AIDS community in the 1980s and how his perspective evolved. Of course, the book also covers the current COVID-19 pandemic.

Note that pauses between chapters are a bit longer than I was used to, and I sometimes wondered if the audiobook had stopped. Not a big deal, just something to be aware of.

Highly recommended.
