Bad Girls Never Say Die by Jennifer Mathieu

The title and the cover page of this book peaked my interest almost right away. Then I noticed that it was based in 1964, and I was sold! Now that I have read it, I wish I looked into the synopsis a little bit more... because this book was all sorts of BORING!

"Bad Girls Never Say Die" follows Evie and her group of "tough" friends. This is the type of group who cuts class to smoke their cigarettes, hang out in abandoned houses, and causes a ruckus wherever they go!
While the girls are hanging out at their local drive in theater... Evie finds herself being dragged into a field by a drunk rich kid (a.k.a. tea sippers). While he attempts to sexually assault Evie... a stranger takes action and stabs him. Ultimately killing him. Her hero happens to be the mysterious new girl, Diane. Diane was once a tea sipper, but has now found herself living on the wrong side of the tracks with her aunt. In a state of panic Evie and Diane take action in order to hide what they have done! Because of Diane's heroic act, Evie decides to take the new girl under her wing and protect her at all costs! This new acquaintance quickly developed into a close friendship, because it turns out that Diane is "tougher" than she seems.
Will Evie and Diane be able to keep their secret? Will Diane be able to overcome her baggage?
Or will the "tea sippers" win again?

As I mentioned earlier.... literally nothing happened in this book! It is mainly just Diane telling stories about her life. Yes, she has lived an extremely sad life.... however thats about it! I thought this was going to be a bad to the bone, free spirited, bad ass story. NOPE! Bad to the bone? More like "annoying as a sliver"! The girls were so juvenile and oblivious! If it weren't for the triggering aspects of this book, it could pass as a middle grade thriller! Overall, this was extremely disappointing!
