I most likely would not have picked up if TJ Klune hadn’t written it. I ended up loving this book; it was a great story about finding family and love in a world that can sometimes feel like it’s so full of hate. Although I did find a few plot points a little too convenient for the story, and I didn’t quite buy into the romantic subplot. If you’ve ever wondered what it would be like if X-Men (especially Jean Grey) was a little gayer and had more “monsters,” then this book is for you! (Also, unfortunately for a good portion of the book I pictured Linus looking like Pops Maellard from Regular Show).
Graphic: Child abuse
Moderate: Fire/Fire injury
Prejudice, bigotry
