I may not have been in the right mind for this one and might have to reread it. But I found it to be (as my students would say) "mid". I felt like it was a young girl having anxieties about the future which would make the story timeless because we have always and will always worry endlessly about uncontrollable future events. But I feel like there's more to the story I'm just not in the right mindset to pick up on.
