Another 'normal person with an interesting job' memoir, which seem to be published a lot these days. It made me laugh and shed a few tears (and cringe a couple of times). It doesn't give as much of an overview of what being a teacher is like as I'd have liked (e.g. she doesn't cover lesson planning), it's more a collection of anecdotes, mostly about the kids she teaches and their struggles.

EDIT: it's been pointed out that the book is full of problematic bits, including racism and anti-semitism and ableism towards the kids. I was clearly reading with my priviledge glasses on
