Love, Rosie
by Cecelia Ahern
this book was tedious. all i could think about while reading was “when are we gonna get to the good part?”. i loved the beginning, alex & rosie were adorable and i couldn’t wait to see them grow and reconnect and realize they should be together. but then we see them with other people living different lives and i was so frustrated. not because they didn’t get together right away, but because we ALL knew they loved each other and yet they chose to pick messy relationships, misery, and miscommunication instead of just meeting up and saying “this is how i feel”! i understand when life gets in the way and blah blah but for THIRTY years they couldn’t have one moment where they were on the same page? and all this because of one drunken kiss when they were 18. my gosh. i strongly believe this book could have been cut in half and still have made the points it wanted to make. the worst part was not all that frustration but the fact that i had to deal with it for over 200 pages (and i didn’t even finish!). there were moments i laughed and things that were cute, but all and all i am disappointed with this one. it really seemed promising and the story had potential it just took too long & wasn’t executed well.
update: i even went and watched the movie and im sorry to say that it made me dislike the story even more lol.
