The book had many elements to it the Triffids and the "Meteor" shower are both man made. The meteors shower is believed to be government satellites., and the Triffids are not really the major threat until towards the end of the book. The book focus on do i stay and help and we all die or do i go and start afresh to maintain the human race is an important theme. Also what sort of world one with new rules or one with the old morality of the past. These where the interesting parts of the book.
