This is the second in the DI Pennance series. The first was ridiculously good. I had huge expectations for this second book - did not disappoint.
Jonah recently joined the NCA; Simone now working for the London City Police. They meet again at a homicide - a man tasered, bread forced down his throat causing him to choke to death. Their meeting is cool at best - Simone had recently reconciled with her loathsome ex, Lars.
Another body is found - with crumbs.
As Jonah pushes the investigation forward, Lars hands on the periphery - a client of the first victim, never one to waste an opportunity to remind Johah Simone chose Lars.
Great suspense, loved the characters - ready for the next!
