Peachy by Camri Kohler

4.0

I'm always on the lookout for fresh horror written by women and Peachy delivered. Peachy is a story about witches and monaters, and it's also a our depression and found family. The imagery and tone really put me in the story, especially the way the story explores depression and emotion. We really get to experience the MC moving through her depression as she discovers a new side of herself while also getting an entertaining story about magic and monsters. The magic system and take on witches and covens was unlike anything I've read before and learning about the world really kept me invested in the story. Normally I'm not into vampire, werewolf, sort of creature horror, but I loved how they work in this story. There were some points where the pacing felt a off and I was left wanting a little more information or story about some of the characters. Overall it was a really fun read and I'm looking forward to reading more in this world.
