Beautiful World, Where Are You by Sally Rooney

3.0

while this book got progressively better as it went on, i can't help but feel like it's mostly once again sally rooney sharing her own opinions about issues through her characters. which is all fine and normal and stuff, but after conversations with friends it's nothing new, really.

and, like, not to bring up normal people again, but this book felt a lot like me being the choir and sally rooney preaching to me, rather than writing about interesting characters with an interesting dynamic. not much of what these characters were accusing each other of felt true to how they behaved and more like telling us how to feel about certain things they did, rather than showing.

anyways, this was better and more enjoyable than conversations with friends (which isn't hard to do) but worse than normal people (which also isn't hard to do).
