The Days of Abandonment by Elena Ferrante

5.0

Have been dealing with a mental block for the past few weeks which has made it hard for me to read, hence why it took me a while to finish such a short book. I loved this book despite the time it took me to finish it (my own fault for being in a ~slump~). The subject matter of the book was painfully real and hit a bit too close to home, but it became an instant favourite for me. Ferrante writes female characters so well and I love her for it. This was a really beautiful depiction of heartbreak, rage, madness, and how a woman's self-worth comes to be defined by her husband.
