This was a fun lighthearted read with an interesting premise, but I felt like it had more potential.
The main characters felt a bit two dimensional - at the end of the story, we barely know any details about their lives, what motivates them and their past.
In some ways, it does feel like a book written in the late 2010s. The antagonists also feel very mustache twirling and not like real, fully developed humans with a personality.
I did enjoy seeing the relationship between the two sisters, and having a supportive, albeit intense, family being depicted.
Not a fan of love stories that develop so fast, but that sometimes comes with the genre.
I wish there was a stronger sense of place during the part of the plot that was set in Maui. I feel like the descriptions of the beach were quite generic, and the vacation could've been set in any other coastal place in the world. I just wish we could've gotten to know the protagonists better.
