A beautiful continuation of a wonderful series.
What I missed most in book one was the exploration of Eerth and how the natives go about their lives. Book two gave us more than that first taste by teleporting the reader to an established city on Eerth and dove deeper into how they live and their societal hierarchy. Would I still have wanted more? Of course. I am greedy.
My lower than 5 star rating is mostly for that reason. With such a unique concept, I was hoping the author was going to take advantage of creating their own world, by showing the reader how advanced everything truly is. We started to see a major shift in the characters and their families, however it slightly hit the mark of opportunity.
With all of that said, I still highly recommend this series. It is a great place to start for those seeking a more digestible sci-fi experience blended with a bit of romance. The writing is lovely and follows a courageous couple willing to fight for freedom and justice.
I look forward to returning to Eerth in the future stories.
