A Touch of Darkness by Scarlett St. Clair

3.0

I know I read another Hades/Persephone retelling last month, but I swear this was bad even not comparing it.

First of all, I’m not a fan of her writing style. It’s either too descriptive or too vague and she struggles to strike a good middle ground.

I also did not like the world building. I couldn’t tell how the lines were drawn between the worlds of the gods and the mortal world. I don’t know if that area exists in its own bubble, cut off from our modern world or not.

That being said, the romance was fine, if a little predictable. I liked the side characters here a lot so that saved it. And it was enjoyable enough that I finished it.
