Half Brother by Kenneth Oppel

5.0

This is a great book for youth to learn about animal rights. Oppel interwove many true stories about chimpanzees in the book. The book, Next of Kin by Roger Fouts, was probably the basis for his writing. Roger Fouts is the researcher who established the Chimpanzee and Human Communication Institute at Central Washington University in Ellensburg, Washington. This is primarily Dr. Fouts' story of Washoe. If you like Half Brother, then read Next of Kin. It's an amazing story!
