I read about 60% of this book over a 2 month period and decided I just could not finish it. The characters are very 1 dimensional. I felt like I kept reading the same type of scene for multiple chapters. I was tired of reading “How’s Jessie doing?” every other page. The chemistry between Nik and Carlos felt super forced. I hate that this book wasn’t great, because I loved the diversity and I wanted to support a black authoress, but I hate I wasted my time.
