Olga Dies Dreaming
by Xochitl Gonzalez
Based on the cover and title of this book, one would likely expect a story centered on a woman on a personal journey. Although that is the core of this novel, there is so much more going on here. There are some extremely complex yet realistic family dynamics, conflicts between ambition and ethics, and honest conversations about racism, abandonment, sexual assault, and trauma. And all of this is an absolute pleasure to read. This is the work of a highly skilled writer.
