I loved this book and devoured it within 24 hours. I feel like it healed a small part in me, and will resonate with anyone whose ever felt unlovable, especially because of your body.

This book was recommended to me by a friend after i asked for a "happy funny book i can turn my brain off to with minimal angst", and this one knocked it out of the park. I was giggling and kicking my feet from the beginning and genuinely smiling while reading the majority of it.

The characters are deep and well written and i was rooting for both main characters as individuals and as a couple the whole time.

The plot is also rich and portrays complex relationships outside of the main couple, including the importance of supportive communities as well as the different, more nuanced ways parents can hurt their kids, even when they love them.

This might've been a five star read for me, but I didnt love the third act break up. In general i am not a big fan of third act break ups regardless, so take this with a grain of salt. However this one was especially frustrating to me. For one thing, the cause of the break up is obvious from their very first date, and could've been avoided. Plus I dont love how close to the end it all happens, cause it just leaves me with the after taste of how desolate and heartbroken they are. I personally prefer the happily ever after to be a substantial part of the book, not just a few pages post reconciliation.
