Lewis brilliantly thinks the unthinkable about how nuclear war could unfold in the near term. Extrapolates from known, carefully documented facts and writes in a clear, analytical style (with a few none-too-subtle digs at Trump). Would have liked more discussion of what a nuclear attack on major US cities means for the global economy - Lewis focuses mainly on the costs of reconstruction - but in the scheme of things, that's a quibble.
