The Hybrid Teacher: Using Technology to Teach in Person and Online by Emma Pass

3.0

I received an Educator ALC of this audiobook from Libro.fm in 2021, but I just now took the time to listen to it as I prepare for another new school year. Much of it wasn't new information to me after my own teaching experiences through 2020-2022, and it does not try to solve technological difficulties. The author fully acknowledges that the book is based on her own personal teaching experiences and the privilege she has in the hybrid school in which she teaches. It is more a guide to resources and strategies for engaging and productive lessons when using online or hybrid instruction that is accessible to students. I agree with some other reviews I read that it has clear, broad information, but for many of us who have been teaching these last couple years it is not groundbreaking and some of it is likely to become outdated reasonably quickly. However, I did find it a worthwhile listen and took note of several new to me resources and ideas. These resources include the author's own website and blog which I feel will be worth following for current resources.
