Born a Crime: Stories From a South African Childhood by Trevor Noah

5.0

This one has been on my tbr for a while and I'm so glad I was finally able to read it. Trevor Noah's prose is witty and to the point, and he paints stark pictures about life growing up in South Africa. Before now I really didn't know much about him outside what I've seen of his show, and this is a point of view that a lot of Americans don't get. Growing up, all I learned about apartheid is that it was a thing that happened, Mandela was a person who existed and did good things, and then apartheid ended. This gave me so much more info. His life has been filled with interesting, fun, and sad experiences. I would highly recommend to everyone.
