Unlike the first book there was little to no character development, and key relationships seemed dictated rather than fluid. Some of the awkwardness was intentional, I know, but even factoring in certain issues

Some aspects of the plot were interesting

but I really didn't see the point in others, and even nano-bots can only take me so far.

Blair's injury, as described, was so severe that I'd expect him to die quickly and not lie there having a few snogs first.
