Baby, Bring Back 1997 by Scott Laudati, Scott Laudati
4.0
Like eating at your favorite fast food joint. That sounds weird but I don't know what else to compare to. Laudati is an easy-reading sort of narrator. His prose is cut sharp and to the point, and still evokes emotions. There's no frills or fluffy layers to chew through. Your cheeseburger and fries. Here's your story. I liked that about this book. These stories brought back some nostalgia for me, originally from NYC myself. I'm not sure I miss 1997 specifically, but that doesn't affect my desire to go back to this restaurant and read more Laudati.
