Interesting idea, but ultimately not for me.
It felt like key bits of world building and background were missed or not explained well and I really struggled with this. There were some plot twists towards the end that came from nowhere, and not in a good way. The narrative also felt quite jarring in places.
On a positive note I did really empathise with the characters whenSeventeen died/ Bay was born and I did actually finish the book (although I was struggling towards the end).
